Frequently Asked Questions

What pages can I have on my site?

My clients generally want to have the following pages on their site:

  1. Home page - the first impression, the most important information about your company
  2. About page - about your company or yourself on a more personal level
  3. Photos pages - showcasing your product or service
  4. Contact page - where someone can find the address, phone number and can also send an email directly to you.

There are many other possibilities, but this list will get you started with ideas.

What do I need in order to get started with a site?

You need to provide me with any logos, photos and text that you want to appear on your site.

Can you do a site for someone out-of-state?

Yes, I can keep in contact with my out-of-state clients by phone and email since the product I'm producing is completely on-line. To date I have worked with several out-of-state clients.

What is the best type of client for you?

Someone who I would be able to establish a profitable working relationship with would be a small business owner

Do I have to be computer-savvy?

No, you do not. You are good at what you do and I'm good at what you do. I try to make it as simple as possible for you so you can concentrate on what you do best.

How long does it take to develop a site?

It generally takes between 4 and 6 weeks.

Who does the site belong to?

The copyrights to all the material on the site will belong to you, the client. However, I will put a link at the bottom stating that the site was designed by Rachel Staab and this will include a link to my site.

How much does a site cost?

The major determinant of how much a site is going to cost is how involved it is. I base my costs on how much work is involved. Email me for a quote.

Are there other costs associated with setting up a site?

You will have to pay hosting fees. These generally are at least $10 per month. They can be more expensive. I can host your site and maintain it from $10 to $20 per month depending on how much maintenance you are planning on needing.

What is hosting?

Hosting is like renting a piece of real estate on a computer. Your site has to be actually stored on a computer somewhere so that it can be accessed on the internet.

Do you use templates?

No, I custom create each site for my clients based on their needs and desires.

How do I update my site?

I can update your site for you on a weekly or monthly basis (whatever we decide on) or I can set up a system for you to be able to update your site from any where that you can get an internet connection.
